60 Minutes
On 60 Minutes this weekend, an interviewed Afghan citizen said, in regards to the Americans fighting the Taliban, "You can't block the sun with two fingers." What do you think he meant by this? (Think for at least two minutes before you say "I don't know.") Do you agree or disagree? Why?
The Taliban is such a huge power in Afghanistan. The American troops are severely outnumbered by them... You cannot stop the Taliban by using such a small force = You cannot block the sun with two fingers.
Attention all students who have me for more than one class!
First of all, congratulations! You are one lucky student!
Second of all, you are responsible for more blog entries than those people who only have me for one class. So, that means you are responsible for coming up with some of your own ideas. Here are some extra ideas to keep you moving along ...
* Share your favorite song lyrics, or embed a song or video into your blog entry. Explain why the song matters. * Write about a recent episode of a TV show that you watch regularly. * Write about a book you're reading. * Write about a movie you recently saw. * Write a poem. * Write about something that's going on in the world right now that irritates you. (It can be something that's happening in Haiti, or in Moscow.) * Write about something that makes you happy!
